Heaven on Earth: Thailand’s Picturesque Beaches

In most areas of the world, one beach is much like another. In Thailand, however, each beach has a distinct ambiance and a personality that sets it apart. The one thing that they do all have in common is a natural environment that remains unparalleled for its tropical beauty. That unique beauty was recognized recently, when more than 200,000 travel professionals issued their recommendation that this is one of the finest destinations in the world for tourists.

According to the experts, the Dusit Thani located on Laguna Phuket is the best beach resort in all of Thailand. However, this lovely beach is almost a first among equals when it comes to the magnificent Thai shoreline.

Railay Beach
Impressive cliffs soar upwards from this remote beach that can only be reached by boat, even though it is located on the mainland. That very seclusion makes Railay Beach an ideal spot for tourists to relax during their Thailand holidays. Because of its location the beach is usually devoid of the crowds that fill the other beaches even during the off-peak season. From the beach can be seen colourful islands in the distance; they are reminiscent of Bali Hai from the film South Pacific. This really is a fantastic beach on which to relax, swim and soak up the sun.

Portions of East Railay Beach are blanketed with mangrove trees. These facilitate a jungle adventure as the tourists follow a trail that leads from the wharf to the sands and cliffs of West Railay Beach.

Hua Hin Beach
Nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, this beach allows visitors to explore vast expanses of sand at low tide. The landscape here slopes very gradually and gently toward the water, making the sea shallow for quite a distance out from the beach. These natural features make Hua Hin Beach a lovely place for a stroll; tourists can walk far out into the ocean before it becomes necessary to swim. A related benefit of the gentle slope is that children can play in the shallow surf without their parents worrying about them getting into difficulties in deep water.

White Sand Beach
Situated on the island of Koh Chang, the White Sand Beach has the natural beauty that tourists taking flights to Thailand have come to associate with this small nation in Southeast Asia. Palm trees border the line separating the sandy beach from the tropical forest, while a background of verdant green hills reminds the visitor that much of Thailand is still a wild, natural land.

Patong Beach
The Island of Phuket can lay claim to this beach, which is the most popular stretch of coastline in the country. The ribbon of sand here is wide, easily accommodating the many guests that flock to hotels in Thailand specifically to enjoy the warm water and the sand, which is famed for being both soft and white.

Thailand has much more to offer than beaches, of course, but the breathtaking coastline is a primary reason why so many travellers return to this tropical country time after time.
